Large Paraffin Reservoir has 5.2 liter capacity for long, uninterrupted work periods. Molded-in fins spread heat uniformly for stable temperature control. Paraffin purity is ensured with removable fine mesh filter. Easy filling and cleaning is facilitated by a removable lid.
Constant digital display of Paraffin Reservoir Temperature is on the front panel. The thermostatic range of the reservoir is between 45 and 65 degrees Celsius. The pre-selected set temperature will display at the touch of a button.
The gravity flow Paraffin Dispenser is push-pad activated by pressing the mold against the touch plate. One knob above the nozzle regulates the paraffin flow rate. A second knob secures that adjustment to alleviate dripping.
The paraffin-dispensing foot switch provided with this unit plugs into the left side of the front panel. In operation, this switch will leave both hands free.
The cold plate is located at the identical height of the paraffin dispensing area to provide smooth movement of filled molds to the cooling surface. Design of cold plate incorporates a short extension to the hot plate, then expands to the full depth of the embedding center. The entire area can hold up to 100 molds. A reliable compressor supplies rapid cooling to -15 degrees Celsius.
Auxiliary light illuminates entire work area around the paraffin dispenser to assist in specimen orientation and to minimize operator fatigue.
Magnifier with gooseneck can be easily positioned by operator for precise orientation of small specimens. Lens is spot ground for two level magnification.
Unique drainage system provides total access to waste paraffin, which is channeled from the cassette opening area, the forceps block, and the hot plate drain to a heated, easily removed collection tank.
The removable hot plate can be temperature controlled between 55 and 75 degrees Celsius. This independent controls is located on the panel directly in front of the hot plate. At the touch of a button, digital read-out of the actual temperature is displayed.
Forceps warmer quickly heats and reheats the tips of forceps. The easily removed unit contains wells for 4 forceps.
A convenient trough at the front of the warming tank leads to the embedding area. This cassette opening area allows the operator to arrange and open cassettes within a shallow paraffin bath.
Heated base mold storage area has angled compartments for quick access. Partitions are adjustable to keep various-sized molds separated and heated, ready for use. The front compartment of this area holds used cassette lids. After embedding, this collection bin lifts out for convenient transfer or disposal of lids.
Heated cassette holding area contains a removable stainless steel tank to store up to 200 tissue cassettes. Recessed handles enable user to lift it out when transporting specimens from tissue processor. Lids cover these warming tanks when instrument is not in use.
User security, convenience and specimen safety are designed into this unitized Embedding Center. Double-sealed joints prevent penetration of fluid in to the interior. Also, the Embedding Center complies with rigorous international standards for electrical safety.
