Leica Galen III provides a choice of monocular, binocular or trinocular bodies each with a 45 degrees inclination capable of 360 degree rotation. The trinocular body, ideal for photodocumentation or video capabilities, is equipped with a flip-in prism designed to split 80% of available light to the phototube and 20% of the lgith to the eyepieces. Also available is an adaptor mount for video-only applications.
The 10X and 15X widefield, highpoint eyepieces provide a large field of view and comfortable observation, when when wearing eyeglasses.
The eyepieces accept 21 mm reticles for clear location or measurement of specific specimen points. Dual diopter adjustments enable the operator to adjust for eye refraction differences. Eyetube separation is adjustable from 54 to 74 mm to conform with individual interpupillary distances. All objectives are parfocal and parcentered to minimize focusing procedures. 20X, 40X, and 100X objectives are retractable to ensure that both specimens and the instrument will be protected against accidental damage.
Bright illumination and high resolution result from the precentered, 1.25 N.A. Abbe condenser with iris diaphragm and blue day light filter. Leica Galen III is equipped with a new integral graduated mechanical stage as standard. The stage is a generous 152mm x 127mm with a traverse range of 50mm x 40mm. A rugged new slide holder provides assurance for use with mounted specimens. The graduated mechanical stage is available in right-hand configurations. For ease of operation and comfort, control knobs are mounted low on the stage side. A pre-set stage stop prevents upward travel. Focusing is made convenient with the wrist level coarse and fine focus control knob. The fine focus control is marked clearly with incremental numerals for easy identification and quick adjustment of focus stops. The click-stop rotating nosepiece provides smooth, even rotation for long-lasting operation. The tension adjustment control located on the right-hand focus control provides users a means to adjust the instrument to individual preferences.
Features:
New Graduated Mechanical Stage - integral standard on all Leica Galen III microscopes for more precise analysis and examinations.
Dual Diopter Adjustments - assure objectives' parfocality at an interpupillary distance (IPD).
Illumination System - provides 6V, 20W tungsten / halogen in-base illuminator in both 120V or 240V. The illuminator lamp is easily accessible for simple and fast replacement. Also available with an in-base mirror illuminator.
High-quality Glass Optics - assure clear images and sharp resolution over entire field of view.
Separate On/Off Switch, Rheostat Intensity Control and Illumination Indicator Light - help conserve lamp life.
Achromat and Planachromat DIN Standard objectives.
Engraved Serial Number Plate - provides proper means of identification and protects your investment with a trace number, especially helpful when the instrument is used by a number of operators in varied settings.
Stable, C-shaped Stand and Wide Base help provide image stability.
