The Stryker Epic II critical care bed is expressly designed for complex ICU situations. Enhanced care and efficient operation are the hallmarks of Epic II. With advantages such as an integrated scale, multi-zone Chaperone bed exit monitoring system and the ability to accommodate various support surfaces, Epic II can address the most rigorous critical care therapies. Epic II intuitively and efficiently facilitates patient care while complementing caregiver expertise.
BackSmart Design
Stryker’s revolutionary BackSmart design significantly reduces the risk of back injuries through integrated ergonomics. Low bed height and intermediate siderail position minimize manual lifting while bed controls at foot and head-end as well as siderails ensure easy access. A foot activated brake system also eliminates the need for bending and reaching. The largest radiolucent window on the market limits the need for patient transfers.
Open Architecture
Stryker’s practical open architecture design accommodates any support surface designed to fit a standard hospital bed providing the flexibility to choose the most appropriate patient surface.
Optional iBed Awareness
Through a smart bed monitoring system, Stryker’s exclusive iBed Awareness communicates local bed status information to help ensure patient safety and improve overall efficiency. iBed Awareness allows caregivers to select specific parameters that indicate a safe bed for a particular patient. When pre-set parameters change, iBed Awareness provides visual and optional audible feedback. iBed Awareness can also be integrated into a nurse call system for optimum efficiencies. iBed Awareness allows nurses to focus more on patient care by helping to reduce time spent on routine tasks such as bed checks and shift changes.
Chaperone Bed Exit System
Patient falls are among the top concerns of hospitals today. Stryker's patented Chaperone bed exit system accurately senses body positioning by constantly tracking the patient's center of gravity based on three patient positioning zones for caregiver flexibility and patient safety. By basing its alert system on the patient's weight distribution, Chaperone is an effective, reliable tool to help prevent falls and reduce false alarms. Stryker also offers a comprehensive fall prevention program designed to partner with the Chaperone bed exit system. Available as a free resource, this comprehensive program combines education, technology and a life-long fall prevention partnership to help produce the results that facilities need - safer patients and lower costs.
Optional Zoom Drive
Stryker’s patented motorized Zoom drive significantly reduces effort needed for patient transport and offers increased efficiencies through one-person transport. Zoom drive not only allows for easy patient transport but, in many cases, eliminates the need for transfer cots which increases patient comfort and reduces caregiver strain.
Siderail and Footbed Positioning Control
The Epic II’s siderail and footbed controls provide maximum access, essential in the critical care environment.
Radiolucent Platform
Epic II’s radiolucent platform provides maximum fluoroscopic access from neck to pelvis.
Integrated Scale
Stryker’s patented in-bed scale system increases efficiencies by taking accurate repeatable weight readings with the patient in any position, including with the head of bed over 30 degrees.
Backrest Position
The Epic II’s backrest is designed for both patient comfort and functional practicality with 90-degree positioning to aid in patient ambulation and facilitate upright chest imaging.
Dual-Pedestal Design
Stryker’s dual-pedestal design helps eliminate pinch and crush points while providing ultimate cleanability.
